Designed in close collaboration with French spine surgeons, Easyspine is the result of experience drawn from classical polyaxial top loading system.

Easyspine represents a major evolution based on a different philosophy:

A pedicle screw system wih an integrated set screw using a postero-lateral and sequential loading on the flattened rod to restore the patient's sagittal balance.

Pedicle Screws

Integrated set screws

  • The pre-integrated set screw in the head of the screw:

    • Simplifies and eases surgery while eliminating surgical steps: set screw insertion.

    • Increases mechanical reliability by eliminating the risk of cross threading when the set screw is inserted and tightened.

    • Reduces the number of implants and instruments required for surgery.

  • The distinctive feature of the locking set screw that is not deformable, and advantage that will ease the revision.

0,5mm micro-thread

  • The set screw is pre-integrated, so it is possible to reduce thread pitch compared to conventional systems. The use of micro-thread and increased the number of threads:

    • Increases the mechanical properties and the reliability of the tightening.

    • Requires 30-50% less locking-torque than conventional systems.

    • Reduce the stress applied to the screw and therefore on the pedicle.

Set screw with integrated polyaxial locking mechanism

  • The integrated polyaxial mechanism on the set screw allows multiple pedicle screw angles in order to maintain flat-on-flat rod connection without compromising stability.

Monobloc Pedicle Screw

  • The screw is made of a single piece, the weakest mechanical point of the screw (junction between the head of the screw and the thread) is reinforced due to the monobloc design.
  • The monobloc design offers more precision and reliability in correction maneuvers (compression/distraction, spondylolisthesis reduction/trauma...).
  • Loads applied to the screw head is transferred to the whole system and thus stress applied from the pedicle to the vertebral body.
 

Standard Screw and Alpha Screw

  • The standard screw automatically positions 90° relative to the rod. It is especially recommended for indications where the correction to be made must be distributed across all vertebrae: correcting spondylolisthesis, trauma, scoliosis...
  • The alpha screw is a standard screw with a polyaxial swivel joint in the base of the screw. This swivel joint allows a congruent contact with the rod when sagittal trajectory screw is not perpendicular to the rod (degenerative, L5-S1 angulation...).

Conical core and cylindrical thread

  • The combination of a conical core and cylindrical thread ensures optimal anchorage along the length of the screw (cortical + trabecular bone) offering a great pull-out resistance.
  • The conical core eases screw penetration into pedicle and maximizes the screw diameter at the entry point of the pedicle providing a greater reliability.
  • The cylindrical thread allows height adjustment without significantly reducing pull-out resistance. The anchorage of the screw is optimal.

Sequential rod loading

  • The medial opening of the screw head allows insertion of the rod from screw to screw (level to level).
  • The sequential rod loading allows a progressive reduction of deformities with reduced traumatisms.
  • The screw opening is directed toward spinous process in order to ease rod insertion in regard to muscles.

6mm constant diameter: 3 variable rigidities

  • The rod design enables variable rigidities in the sagittal plane with a constant rod diameter.

  • The rigidity is controlled by the variation of the flat height: S, M and R.

  • The possibility to have 3 systems in 1 allows a intraoperative choice of the rod rigidities depending on pathology and patient phisiology (weight, osteoporosis, trauma, scoliosis...).

  • The outer diameter is constant, allowing for the rods to be compatible with all implants (screw, hook,...).

Flat-on-flat clamping

  • The flattened rod increases the surface contact between rod and set screw compared to a cylindrical rod. The reliability of the locking is increased.

  • The flattened part helps prevent rod rotation during distraction/compression and final tightening. It strenghtens lordosis control in intraoperatively and long term.

Safety Stops

  • The rod end incorporates safety stops which allows for the rod to be completely within the screw head and to protect adjacent facets.

  • Maintain the rod inside the head of the screw during correction maneuvers, final tightening and long term.

  • The rods are available in different lenghts in order to preserve safety stops whatever the size of the rods.

LP Screw: pedicle screw for spondylolisthesis reduction

Offset screw

  • The head of the screw is 10mm offset. The force is applied along the screw and the pedicle in the spondylolisthesis reduction.

  • This positioning allows screw trajectory by shifting the entry point in the pedicle while easing the rod connection.

Safety Stop

  • A safety stop at the head of the screw limits bone penetration and guarantees poyiaxiality of the screw.

Bony reduction

  • With the LP screw head tightened on the rod, driving the screw thread will reduce the spondylolisthesis by pulling the vertebra along the screw thread.

  • This maneuver can be stopped at any time for a partial reduction.

Mechanical reduction

  • Unscrewing the locking nut results in a translation of the LP screw head along the thread. This optional reduction maneuver is used when additional thread engagement is desired in the displaced vertebra to get a better anchorage.

Adjustable cross connection

  • Pre-assembled connectors ease insertion with one step for pre-tightening and final tightening of the clamps.

  • Slots ease intraoperative cross connection length.

Laminar hooks

  • The different angulations of the hook's blade adapts to vertebrae morphology and allows for a supra or sub laminar position.

  • Can be positioned at the beginning or at the end of the construct and combied with a pedicle screw on the same vertebrae which reduces the pull-out force applied to the pedicle screw and minimizes the construct bulkiness (avoid the use of an additional level).
